Art Direction, Branding & Campaign Development
of a fundraising event for a cultural organization
I partnered with New York–based visual artist Derrick Adams on the creative development of three cultural organizations he founded in his hometown of Baltimore. As part of their official launch, we were tasked with designing the branding for their flagship fundraising event, The Garden Party—including the name, logo, color palette, and event signage.
Rooted in the symbolism of green as life, growth, and renewal, the identity was crafted to be distinct, memorable, and tied to the giving season—becoming a visual anchor that could return year after year. The design blended elegance with approachability, creating a welcoming atmosphere that invited participation and support.
I also led the rollout campaign, with a strong emphasis on email marketing. Leveraging Derrick’s exclusive mailing list, we engaged friends and supporters from Baltimore and beyond, successfully rallying resources for the city’s Black creative community and setting the tone for future annual gatherings.
